ACCOUNTABLE TO: Communications & Engagement Manager
CONTRACT: Permanent, Full-time
JOB PURPOSE
To identify, build and maintain relationships with key UWL staff in order to enable and facilitate UWLSU activity at the Berkshire (Reading) campus
Contribute to the communications and engagement team?s strategic and operational planning
Supervise up to 10 student staff and 1000 student volunteers
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To identify, build and maintain relationships with key UWL staff in order to enable and facilitate UWLSU activity at the Ealing campus. This will involve:
Coordinating UWLSU activity at the Berkshire (Reading) campus, serving as a communication bridge between UWL staff and UWLSU staff
Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with university staff
Communicate the SU?s services to course teams, tailored to the specific needs of the students on that course, in a way that drives up engagement with SU services.
Facilitate the delivery of the SU?s services in courses and schools by matching course needs with SU delivery teams and enabling their communication with each other to ensure timely high quality delivery of services.
Communicating regularly with decision makers and influences in both UWLSU and UWL to ensure a high level of service provision
Creating a positive attitude towards UWLSU and ensuring we have an excellent reputation amongst UWL staff
Maintaining tracking system to ensure service agreements are on track and delivered to a high standard
Contribute to the communications and engagement team?s strategic and operational planning. This will involve:
Putting forward ideas for strategic planning to improve communications and engagement based on evidence
Undertaking operational planning by planning activities, tasks, and projects as assigned by the Engagement Manager
Producing reports on the performance of the engagement team at the Berkshire (Reading) campus to allow for evaluation and development of the service
Attending team meetings and away days
Supervise up to 15 student staff and 1000 student volunteers
Coordinating the recruitment, development, training, and support of volunteers relating to activity undertaken in Berkshire
Coordinating volunteers? communication with sabbatical officers;
Supervising student staff in line with Union policies and procedures;
Providing sabbatical officers with key information relating issues and academic issues in Berkshire
