ACCOUNTABLE TO: Communications and Engagement Manager
CONTRACT: Permanent. Full-time
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Up to 4 staff members; 10 student Staff; 100 Volunteers
CLOSE DATE: Tuesday 20th June 2017 at midday
To manage the development of strategic relationships with UWL staff in order to facilitate UWLSU activity across all campuses
Responsible for the operational planning of the UWLSU engagement team and have key involvement in UWLSU strategic planning
Line manage up to 4 staff members within the engagement team, up to 15 students, up to 100 volunteers and provide support for student officers of specific projects
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To manage the development of strategic relationships with UWL staff in order to facilitate UWLSU activity across all campuses. This will be done by:
Developing and managing a strategic relationships strategy to build working relationships with UWL staff at all UWL campuses
Developing and exploring possible systems that would allow the engagement team to track key relationships and creating processes to facilitate service agreements and delivery
Working with relevant teams within UWLSU to create the offer of services to be provided to all UWL staff
Conducting periodic reviews to ensure service agreements are met and that UWL staff are satisfied with activity
Monitoring performance against service agreements and flagging potential issues
Alerting the engagement team to opportunities for further activity offers to UWL staff
Meeting regularly with key UWL staff to maintain excellent working relationships

Responsible for the delivery of reports, and primary/secondary research relating to UWLSU?s engagement activity
Responsible for operational planning relation to UWLSU?s engagement activity
Highly involvement in UWLSU?s strategic planning, including putting forward evidence based ideas for improvements and new projects/services particularly in relation to UWLSU?s engagement activity
Liaising, negotiating, and building relationships with UWLSU staff, UWL staff, and other relevant external parties on issues relating to UWLSU?s engagement activity
Line-manage up to 4 staff members within the engagement team, up to 15 students, up to 100 volunteers and provide support for student officers of specific projects. This role will:
Arrange, conduct and keep records of management meetings with paid and voluntary members of the engagement team ? including performance reviews, appraisals, and investigations
Responsible for recruitment and induction of staff in the engagement team
Manage the learning and development of staff in the engagement team
Responsible for the recruitment, induction, and management of student staff and volunteers in the engagement team
Provide briefings and support to the president and vice-presidents, and involve relevant elected officers in planning and delivery of engagement activity
