Job Description

With member unions representing 5.7 million working people from all walks of life the TUC campaigns for a fair deal at work and for social justice at home and abroad. Grade 6 37,974 pa rising incrementally to 39,328 pa including London Weighting 2 year fixed-term contract, 35 hours per week Based in Congress House, London WC1B 3LS Can you make working people?s stories come alive on a web page? The TUC is looking for a brilliant copywriter and website editor to help deliver our coming organisational rebrand and to help us develop new content channels to engage more effectively with young workers. We need you to create and edit regular high-quality digital written materials to be used on TUC sites or elsewhere, including writing web pages, blogs, emails, advice materials for working people and features on TUC campaign topics. You?ll need experience in writing for a number of different audiences and in different tones of voice, and an awareness of how written content can best lead to engagement. You?ll know your way around a website content management system, as well as web accessibility and SEO. We?re looking for a bright, talented new colleague who?s able to get their head round our issues quickly and is committed to making work better for everyone. You?ll be joining the digital team within a wider campaigns and comms department that runs a number of high-profile campaigns every year, secures extensive media coverage for our priorities and supports our general secretary Frances O?Grady to put working people at the heart of the political debate.
