We explore the ways that words can change lives. We work locally, nationally and internationally and run a live events programme from our building in Clerkenwell, London. We are home to six Resident organisations (Apples & Snakes, Article 19, Arvon, English PEN, The Literary Consultancy, The Reading Agency), and over 40 Associate organisations. We are also a research hub for literature, literacy and free expression. We are regularly funded by Arts Council England and the Norwegian Free Expression charity, Fritt Ord. We work with closely with Skin Deep, Maslaha, New Writing North, Spread the Word and others to ensure we deliver on our aims and fully represent the diversity of people we want to work with and for. We're entering an exciting period of transition, and we're looking for a passionate and committed fundraising professional to take charge of our fundraising targets, supporter and funder relationships. You will be as ambitious for the arts and society as Free Word, with a love of fundraising and a flair for stakeholder management at senior level. You will have a track record of generating significant income across a variety of sources, including Trusts, Foundations, Corporate organisations and Individuals.
