Job Description

With member unions representing 5.7 million working people from all walks of life the TUC campaigns for a fair deal at work and for social justice at home and abroad. We are now looking to appoint to the following positions: POLICY AND CAMPAIGNS SUPPORT OFFICERS (PCSO) x3 Organisation and Services Department Grade 6 33,508 rising incrementally to 34,862 Permanent 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday PCSO Northern Region, Job Ref: OSD.04.17 Based in Newcastle Assessment Centre date: Thursday 2 March 2017 Interview date: Friday 3 March 2017 PCSO South West Region, Job Ref: OSD.05.17 Based in Bristol Assessment Centre date: Monday 6 March 2017 Interview date: Wednesday 15 March 2017 PCSO Yorkshire and Humber Region, Job Ref: OSD.06.17 Based in Leeds Assessment Centre date: Thursday 2 March 2017 (to be held in Newcastle) Interview date: Tuesday 9 March 2017 (to be held in Leeds) Our PCSO role offers the post holder a significant opportunity to become involved in and contribute towards TUC policy and campaigns work. Tasks are wide ranging and incorporate support for policy and research and campaign projects, involvement in media work such as drafting blog posts and administering data management systems. Communication and campaign skills are key as is experience of supporting policy development. In addition, the successful candidates will also need to demonstrate: ? Campaigning experience ? Experience of project management ? Excellent writing skills ? Sound organizational skills ? Strong team-working skills ? Knowledge and understanding of key issues for the TUC including current issues in trade unionism, public services, economic and social affair and politics ?
