Role: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE DevOps Site Reliability Engineer Amazon Web Services AWS ECS Python Terraform Kubernetes K8s Docker GitLab Artifactory Prometheus Grafana Python Automation Deployment CI CD Finance Asset Management Manager Investment Fi) required by our asset management client in London. You will be joining three other site recovery engineers in London and the US. Together they are part of a team of engineers who are developing an automated release and deployment tool, linking up Terraform, Artifactory, Docker and GitLab to create a seamless software deployment tool. In addition to this, they are creating a 'drag and drop' AWS release product. Your role, together with the other site recovery engineers (SRE's), will be to define and build out the Back End infrastructure. There are 6-8 Java developers who are creating the product itself. The site recovery engineers need to design and provide the Back End infrastructure (infrastructure as code/serverless) solution.
The role will incorporate a large amount of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the use of Artifactory, Terraform, Docker and GitLab. The Scripting will largely be in Python for this position, although there may be some Java too.
Some of the role will include monitoring/observability, so experience with Prometheus or Grafana is highly desirable but not essential. Terraform experience is essential and must include debugging. For Artifactory, also essential, you should have experience administering this at scale. The team use Docker but will accept experience with other containerization tools like Kubernetes or ECS. This should include building and deploying microservices.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an international company that is investing heavily in technology. They are becoming increasingly technology-driven. This is a greenfield project. Once completed, there will be opportunities for new greenfield projects. There will also be the opportunity for progression and promotion in the future.
