Job Description

Make a difference in Cornwall! - Long-term and flexible opportunity available for a Technical Surveyor

Your new company
As a Technical Surveyor, you will join a Cornwall-based employer who undertake critical work across the county, providing a service for over 550,000 residents, and delivering a suite of services across every cross-section of the community.

Your new role
You will join a busy residential aids & adaptations team who undertake their work across the Cornwall region. As a Technical Surveyor working within this team, you will visit properties which have been approved to receive grant funding, before undertaking an initial inspection and creating a specification detailing the extent of the alteration work required. As part of this process, you will also use CAD to create basic drawings to highlight the work that is needing to be undertaken, before presenting these to a contractor and project managing the completion of the work, ensuring works are delivered to the required standard, with health & safety and CDM in mind, and within budget. Projects could include new ramps, wet rooms, new doors or small extensions.

What you'll need to succeed
This could be a fantastic opportunity for you if you have experience working as a Technical Surveyor, CAD Technician, Building Surveyor or a similar Project Management role in the past. You must satisfy the below criteria:

  • Have a base in Cornwall and be able to drive.
  • Have some basic CAD skills which can be used in a practical setting.
  • Have delivered small refurbishment, alteration or improvement projects previously, ideally within a residential setting.

What you'll get in return
In return, you will join a supportive and secure team who are working across Cornwall to improve the lives of thousands of tenants living across the region. You'll receive a competitive hourly rate (calculated dependent on experience and qualifications), and will be paid on a weekly basis across the duration of a long-term contract. You can expect contract extensions or progression into a permanent role.
