Lifting Technician Required in Great Yarmouth

What You Can Expect from the Role
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Delivers servicing installation, maintenance and repair activity to quality and safety standards and, according to standard work routines, focusing on delivering key performance metrics.
  • Potential requirement to provide rotational cover for out of hours customer response.
  • Complete and return full service & repair reports ensuring all parts utilised have been allocated correctly.
  • Be responsible for proof load testing, visual examination, service and inspection of cranes and general lifting equipment.
  • Achieve competency level as defined in LEEA registration scheme.
  • Be familiar with test and examination techniques for general lifting equipment to LEEA standards.
  • Actively seeks opportunity to drive controlled continuous improvement, identifying and communication process improvement opportunities, so they can be considered for implementation across the whole service footprint
  • Represents the business professionally during customer interactions and uses extensive product knowledge to understand and answer technical questions regarding service requirements.
  • Help specialists set up and test new products or processes; install complex systems according to training and competence level, seeking guidance and support where needed
  • Carries out preventive maintenance inspections, identifying and diagnosing any requirement for equipment and systems emergency repairs
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the business policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure your own work adheres to those standards. Obtains authorisation from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure
  • Works with Service Operations Manager to devise own monthly schedule, ensuring an appropriate operational workforce

  • The Experience, Qualifications and Skills You Will Have
    Essential Criteria:
  • Job-related experience enables the practitioner to operate unsupervised and at a fully competent level.
  • Mechanical engineering experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence required

  • Desirable:
  • Preferably hold or working towards LEEA IP1, IP2 & IP3 as minimum.
  • Have a good knowledge of LOLER requirements.
  • Competent to perform inspections of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER.
