Job Description

Required September 2024

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join the team at Grove Campus. We are always eager to appoint teachers who share our vision and ethos.
The City of Birmingham School is seeking an ambitious, inspirational and enthusiastic teacher who is able to consistently demonstrate excellent classroom practice and contribute to improving outcomes for pupils. We are looking for a Teacher of Humanities with experience of mainstream teaching, an excellent understanding of pedagogy and knowledge of raising both expectations and attainment in the classroom.

This is an exciting time to join our journey of improvement and play a key part in transforming the lives of our young people through excellent teaching and learning leading to academic progress and attainment. In order to achieve this, we are actively seeking teachers with a high level of teaching and curriculum expertise and see this as the key driver to our recruitment. Successful candidates must have an excellent working knowledge of the national curriculum and be experienced at adapting lessons to meet the wide range of academic and SEND needs of pupils in the classroom.

Situated in campuses across the city, our specialised teams of teachers and support staff work together to support pupils with complex social, emotional needs and challenging behaviours.
As the Pupil Referral Unit for Birmingham local authority, we provide for those pupils who have been, or are at risk of, permanent exclusion, Children in Care and those experiencing emotionally based school refusal. Additionally, our Behaviour Support Team offers a traded service to local schools.
