Job Description

Opportunity for an aspirational housing professional to progress into a technical surveying role!

Your new company
An opportunity has arisen for a surveyor to join a provider of affordable and social housing based in the Devon region. Your new employer is responsible for the management and maintenance of over 5000 residential properties in the region. You will join an outcome focussed and energetic team, which comprises professionals undertaking work across reactive repairs, cyclical works delivery, carbon reduction, and also property compliance - you will join as the expert and responsible person for void properties.

Your new role
As a Void Surveyor, you will take ultimate responsibility for ensuring that improvements and refurbishments on empty homes are completed on time, to the required quality and to budget. You will take an active role in ensuring that framework contractors are closely monitored, initially undertaking a physical inspection of the property alongside the contractor, before creating a schedule of work and signing-off completed properties, ready to welcome new tenants.

What you'll need to succeed
Your attitude and personal attributes will be key in undertaking this role to a high standard - in order to be successful in this position you will need to approach work with a positive mindset, wanting to solve problems, embrace challenges and ensure that properties are fit and ready for new tenants. Robust organisation skills will be key to delivery, and you'll need to be a fantastic communicator. This could be a fantastic opportunity for you if you have previously undertaken roles as a Void Surveyor, Empty Homes Surveyor, or may have potentially worked within housing management and would be interested in progressing into a technical position.

What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive an initial contract position with a duration of between 4 - 6 months initially. The role could also progress to a permanent position if this is the desired outcome. You'll receive a competitive hourly rate, which is negotiable based on experience and qualifications, which will be paid to you on a weekly basis.
