Job Description

Year 2 Teacher required for a 12-month contract in a Bebington Primary School from September 2024

Your new company
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 2 teacher to join the friendly and supportive team at a welcoming Wirral Primary School, based in Bebington. The post is full-time from September 2024 and will be for 12 months. However, the school will also be interested to hear from appropriate teachers looking for part-time work. ECTs with experience of teaching year 2 classes will be considered.

Your new role
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons for a year 2 class. You will work in accordance with the Key Stage 1 curriculum, including phonics, literacy, and numeracy, as well as supporting the social and emotional development of the children in your care. You will also be responsible for assessing the pupils' work and using the results to inform your planning.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this Year 2 role you must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • An enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience of teaching year 2 classes in a primary school setting
  • Excellent knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, especially phonics and numeracy
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn and grow
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
