Children's Residential Waking Nights - Set Nights Only

Your new company
Our client is a leading healthcare provider, with multiple sites across Southampton supporting adults & children with complex care needs and emotional behaviours. They provide residential, domiciliary and personal care services for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health and other care needs.

Your new role
As a waking night support worker, you will provide care and support to 2 children with emotional behavioural difficulties. This will be in a residential service based on the outskirts of Totton. Providing a safe and nurturing environment for the young people you support, you will support them by supporting all aspects of life, household duties, supporting the community to attend various activities.
This will be on a set night shift pattern each week, so you will work every:
Tuesday
Wednesday
Saturday
30 hours per week.
What you'll need to succeed
As well as providing exceptional care and support to the children and young people, your duties will include:

  • You must have atleast 6 months UK based experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
  • The ideal candidate will already hold a level 3 in childcare, but candidates who would be willing to undergo this diploma are welcome.
  • Acting as a positive and stable role model as well as providing a safe and nurturing environment
  • Supporting developing self-esteem, a feeling of safety and developing personal goals and strategies to work on behaviours that challenge and achieve their potential.
  • Supporting the smooth running of the service, including supporting keeping the site clean and tidy, helping with not only cooking but also making healthier meal choices and ensuring they are able to make their own choices also.
  • This is not a limited role, other duties will be included and, as you develop professionally, may be added.
