Hays Social Care are looking for an experienced Disability Support Worker to help a client in Belfast.

They work with disabled people with various disabilities; physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health disabilities, hidden disabilities and sensory disabilities. Your new role
Reporting to the Disability Co-ordinator, as a Disability Support Worker, your day-to-day role will be to provide one to one and group-based effective and timely sensory based disability support to meet the needs of those who participate on Skills for Life and Work or Apprenticeship NI related training provision.Planning your own calendar and activities and working to agreed support plans, your objective will be to meet the needs of participants to achieve their training and learning goals and planned qualifications and outcomes. You will effectively monitor and review service delivery, KPIs and quality measures and improvement planning throughout the contract duration.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need Level 3 qualification or equivalent and / or have at least two years' experience and knowledge of directly supporting young people with disabilities in a related sensory support role in employability, training, teaching, or learning support. You will have a professional approach and the ability to work independently and have the ability to work with a wide cross-section of participants with varying levels of support needs.
It is desirable that you are educated to GCSE level in English and Mathematics to Grade C or above or equivalent. A knowledge of the Disability Discrimination Act, a relevant third level qualification or recognised accreditation in a relevant area such as supported employment, teaching, training, mentoring, coaching or careers guidance as well as knowledge of social security benefits and tax credits in relation to disabled people would be an advantage.
