Design Technology Teacher Job, Wigan High School, Paid to Scale

Your new company
Hays are currently recruiting for a Design Technology Teaching job to start after Easter. This will be on a long term basis until the end of the summer term and will be paid to scale from day one. This school delivers a broad and balanced curriculum, and they believe that, through sustained effort and hard work, all individuals can fulfil their potential and achieve their own level of excellence. The school are now looking for a motivated and inspirational teacher to join the team of outstanding staff and work within the team.
Your new role
To be successful, you will be a specialist in Design Technology and the ideal candidate will have some experience in electronics and/or food tech and/or textiles. This role will start immediately after Easter half-term and will involve taking on full class responsibilities, so this will include full planning and delivering of lessons as well as marking work and assessing pupil progress. You will need to work closely with the Design and Technology department in order to deliver the curriculum in a fun and engaging way across KS3 and KS4. You should be able to support and motivate your pupils and commit fully to the role.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, hold qualified teacher status (QTS) gained in the UK. You should be enthusiastic, approachable and be able to hit the ground running. This could be a perfect role for an NQT/ECT that is looking to gain some experience working within a high school environment.
