Graduate/Trainee Quantity Surveyor- Leading Mechanical Contractor - Newry

Your new company
A leading Mechanical Contractor based in Newry and Dublin are currently recruiting a Graduate/Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This award-winning contractor work within the residential and commercial sectors on various medium-large schemes in ROI and NI.
Your new role
The successful candidate will be fully supported with both informal, on-the-job training and will be tasked with analysing existing budgets, making improvements, reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, as well as building relationships with clients and site managers. The ideal candidate with work both as part of a team but have the opportunity to work independently and be able to take on responsibilities as they are given.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate should:

  • Have obtained a minimum of ABB A level (or equivalent level of study)
  • Working towards or currently hold a 2:1 BSC Hons in Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction degree discipline.
  • OR
  • Have an NVQ Level 5 in Plumbing to a relevant construction degree discipline.
  • Possess excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Have strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team but able to work independently, as required.
  • Be comfortable using all Microsoft applications and have robust IT literacy.
  • A clean UK/ROI driver licence and comfortable travelling to sites in the Greater Dublin area.
  • A CSR card or equivalent H&S card for site is desirable.
  • A knowledge of Procore and Revit / CAD is desirable.
