Client Services Manager

Kendal, Cumbria

Permanent, 37.5 hours per week (Full Time)

Salary £20,000 to £21,900 pa rising to £28,000 through length of service

On call shift payment of £14.30 per session, plus Brilliant Benefits

We have fabulous job opportunity for you to join our awesome team. You will have a genuine passion to lead our services in delivering aspirational person-centred housing related support. 

You’ll have overall responsibility for managing our fab new service that opened in March 2021 – The South Lakes Next Steps Accommodation Programme (NSAP). This service has been set up in partnership with South Lakeland District Council in response to the “Everyone In” initiative launched by the government during COVID-19.

In the service, you and the team will support up to 12 customers at any one time. Our customers all live in their own homes located at River View, Lound Road.

All our customers have their own stories and it’s important that you are someone who truly understands this. When customers come to us, they can have a wide range of issues and need our support and guidance to empower them to get on the right path.

Customers can stay with us for around two years and throughout that time, you and the team will put the building blocks in place to support the customers to move onto their forever home.

We have staff at River View 24/7 to ensure that around the clock, our customers get the support that they need. Predominantly, you will work Monday to Friday 9am – 5:30pm however sometimes cover is needed in the service and you will need to be flexible. As a team, we all muck in together.

As Client Service Manager, you will be leading a team of frontline support staff, you’ll help us deliver efficient, high quality, cost effective and customer centred services. You’ll help empower our customers to live independently and make it a great place to work for our colleagues.  

As our team and safeguarding lead, you’ll ensure the high performance and quality assurance of our services using your experience and strong skills in effectively motivating and directing colleagues.  You’ll also monitor service performance against contractual targets and ensure that the service is visible and accessible to referring agencies and self-referring customers too.

To be awesome in this job, your key strengths will lie in people management and motivation, bringing colleagues together to share information and best practice. You’ll maintain strong professional relationships with your peers and their teams as well as external stakeholders. We’ll be impressed with your passion for promoting independence and social inclusion through person centred support, as well as your focus on quality, efficiency and your ability to develop service provision in new and innovative ways.  

We do need you to have an excellent working knowledge of the Housing and Care and Support sectors, safeguarding processes and housing law. You’ll be able to respond quickly and appropriately to emerging risks to individuals, teams or the contract and it’s also important that you have excellent communication skills, IT skills and strong analytical skills too. As this is a leadership in the community-based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.

About our teams

Your fabulous team are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. They have worked at the South Lakes NSAP project since last year and some of the team have worked in past service for Home Group so bring with them a wealth of knowledge! To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. There are 6 in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! 

You will also join the wider management team and will work for our Operations Manager, James Varah. James has been with Home Group for 12 years in February. James is passionate about ensuring our customers get the right outcomes and that you and your team continue to make the huge difference to the people that we support and get them into their forever homes.
