Job Description

Help us to shape health and social care policy

The Kings Fund is an independent charitable organisation working to improve health and care in England. We have a high profile, strong reputation and excellent track record in influencing health and care policy, providing leadership development and hosting high quality events.

12-month fixed term contract

Salary: £35,253 - £42,096 per annum

Location: Central London

Play your part in improving leadership in the health sector.

If you’re a skilled and enthusiastic project officer, you could be part of a highly respected charity that’s working to improve health: The King’s Fund. We help to shape policy and practice through research and analysis; develop individuals, teams and organisations; promote understanding of the health and social care system; and bring people together to learn, share knowledge and debate. Our vision is that the best possible care is available to all.

This is an exciting time to join us. Our leadership work already enjoys an outstanding reputation in the NHS and beyond. As Project Officer, you’ll support our delivery work across a range of clients, co-ordinating activities and liaising with stakeholders. You will create and manage project plans, supporting the senior team in multiple change projects, lead on key client accounts and projects; building and tracking budgets, liaising with stakeholders.

To join us, you need to be organised and self-starting. Good with people and great in a team, you’ll work effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Good communication and numeracy skills mean you’re articulate both on paper and in person, with the ability to present complex issues. You combine these talents with a degree (or equivalent), a keen eye for detail and a flexible approach. Knowledge of the English health and social care system would be an advantage but isn’t essential.

Here at the Fund, we actively encourage applicants from underrepresented backgrounds, people from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds, those with disabilities and from the LGBT+ community. We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge as we recognise that diversity makes us stronger.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, you may initially need to work remotely. Once our premises in London fully reopen, you will be expected to spend some of your time working in the office.

For further information and an application form, please visit our website at www.kingsfund.org.uk/jobs or email: recruitment@kingsfund.org.uk. We will also be recruiting for a Programme Co-ordinator later this month which will be advertised separately.

No agencies please.

CVs will not be accepted as applications. Applications must be submitted using The King’s Fund application form.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 9.30am, Monday 28th June. Late applications will not be considered.

We regret that we cannot respond individually to all applicants due to the high number of applications we receive.  If you have not been contacted within 3 weeks of the closing date, please assume that you have not been shortlisted for interview.

Interviews will be held on the 7th July.

The King’s Fund is committed to equal opportunities in all its activities, and appointments will be determined solely on merit.  Applications are welcomed from all sections of the community, including those from minority ethnic groups and those with disabilities.
