Operations Manager - Children's services

Hays are proud to be working on behalf as a leading Children's provider who is looking to appoint a Operations Manager to assist the organisation in growing! Within this role you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the operational aspects of the company. With 4 existing homes and ambitious growth plans, this role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality care, compliance, and efficient service delivery. We encourage applications from experienced Area/Operations Managers or consultants and Registered Managers ready to take the next step.
Key Responsibilities


  • Strategic Leadership :
  • Service Expansion : Collaborate with senior leadership to drive the growth of our children's provider services.
  • Quality Assurance : Ensure all homes meet regulatory requirements, KPIs, and Children's Homes regulations.
  • Budget Management : Work within allocated budgets to optimise resources.
  • Operational Oversight :
  • Home Management : Support Registered Managers across the 4 homes, providing guidance and supervision.
  • Incident Reporting : Notify and manage incidents in line with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Staffing : Ensure staffing levels and competencies align with home requirements.
  • Relationship Building :
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Build strong relationships with Registered Managers, professionals, and external partners.
  • Community Representation : Represent our organisation positively within the community.
  • Compliance and Safeguarding :
  • Legislation and Policies : Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and ensure compliance.
  • Safeguarding : Safeguard children's welfare and promote best practices.
  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Management Experience : Previous experience as an Area/Operations Manager or a very experienced consultant.
  • Registered Manager : Alternatively, if you're a Registered Manager looking to step up, we welcome your application.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Management : Hold a recognised qualification (Level 5 or equivalent).
  • Leadership Skills : Effective decision-making, problem-solving, and team management.
