Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Salary Circa: £29,000 pa negotiable, dependent on skills and experience

We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our really awesome team as a Housing Manager. Your role in a nutshell, is to make our customers happy! Its not just about providing our customers with a home, its about building relationships with them. This means that when it comes to those situations that are a bit difficult or tricky (which do happen from time to time) that we make it easier to deal with.

Some people Management experience would be ideal as this role also includes the line management of our fabulous caretaker who attends to various duties on our Rayners Lane estate. 

Yes, we collect rent, chase arrears, fill void properties, manage estates and deal with anti-social behaviour. But its so much more than that. Its also about working closely with our colleagues to make sure that where our customers need support, that we help them to live their best lives! 

To us were not just a team were a work family. There are 6 of us in the team and we need someone to make our numbers back up to 7, and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too!  

Where youll work

Youll work across North and West London, but you will have specific responsibility for our properties and estates within the London Borough of Harrow. This is a fast-passed role so you will need to think on your feet and be able to successfully manage your time. The great news is that you will have the flexibility of working either from home or in one of our local offices and well give you the technology and kit to make that easy. 

Working hours

As a team were critical to supporting our customers. The good news is that you will have a degree of flexibility, as its the teams unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life. So, whether its your childs school play, your partners graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered well work with you in what matters.

About you

You'll have a proven passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help our customers.  You will demonstrate effective relationship, negotiation, conflict resolutions skills and the ability to self-manage and prioritise.  You'll also need a good understanding of housing, neighbourhood management, housing law, universal credit, welfare benefits and how this relates to the work of a Registered Provider. 

You will be responsible for carrying out generic Housing Management activities including arrears, void management, estate management, customer involvement, income management, lettings and other related tasks.  You will continuously improve services to meet challenging targets and obtain best value for customers, working in partnership with stakeholders, external partners and colleagues.  You will also signpost our customers to our varied access channels within the contact centre, improving their access to our range of services. 

Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. Youll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So, it's important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

Experience Essential

Its important to us that you have worked in a Housing management environment before. Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

Your €œcan do€ positive attitude and enthusiasm are critical to make this role a success.  

As this is a Mobile working and community-based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Dont worry, well pay you expenses to cover this use!

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
