Job Description

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Ordnance Survey for an Influencer Marketing Executive to play an important role in the Customer & Marketing team within the Consumer Business Unit.  Were looking to transform our influencer and ambassador activity and elevate its performance through a customer-centric, content-focused, expert approach; and need you to help us do this. So, if youre an ambitious influencer marketer and/or social media marketer, who loves the outdoors, wed be keen to hear from you!

Customers are at the heart of everything we do, and our aim is to help them get outside more often.  This is an exciting time to join OS as we continue to learn more about our customers and build our best-in-class team to deliver business objectives.

Reporting to the Social Media Manager, you will work within the Customer & Marketing team to help deliver the influencer strategy through influencer and ambassador selection and ideation, liaison and communication, content, and activity. Your first port of call will be to review our existing GetOutside Champions programme to ensure it is set-up for success with solid KPIs and delivering great results. Ultimately, youll be helping to drive customer and user engagement and growth; whilst also helping to improve efficiency and overall commercial performance.

As our Influencer Marketing Executive you will play a key role in both setting up our programmes, from contracts and deliverables to liaison and ongoing communication; to driving the activation of our influencer activities, working with the wider team to ensure needs are met and opportunities are maximised.

Based in Southampton (currently at home due to Covid-19 restrictions) this is a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits. If youre an ambitious social media, influencer or marketing professional with excellent organisation and communication skills and a passion for all things influencer-oriented, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the future success of an amazing organisation, and a career move that will give you the freedom and support to make an impact and develop.

About you

A motivated self-starter, youll love all things social media and have an interest and possibly direct experience in influencer outreach and creating engagement and commercial results. With excellent organisation skills and an understanding and appreciation of how influencers can help brands to grow, youll have the communication skills necessary to engage with individuals and agencies, key internal teams, and the wider marketing team to ensure a joined approach to activity.

You get the importance of quality content derived from external sources: influencers, ambassadors, celebrities, and content producers. Creative, with outstanding attention to detail you enjoy thinking differently and coming up with engaging and innovative ways to talk to customers through the aforementioned sources. You know what consumers are looking for, and what works, and youre not afraid of putting a plan together, from idea to delivery.

Youre never satisfied.  Constantly striving for improvements, youre comfortable with agreeing success metrics and delving into data to analyse performance. Youre a collaborative team player.  You will work closely and at pace with the wider marketing team as well as across the business with Legal, Customer Services, product managers, PR & Brand, sharing best practice & championing the customer; as well as working very closely with the Social Media Manager and Executive.

You will have some experience working with social media platforms and influencers or an agency in this space, selecting influencers linked to customer types and business/product goals, setting objectives, and organising contracts, rates, and agreements. Alternatively, you may simply have first class organisation and communication skills and experience coupled with an innate creative streak and an interest in influencer marketing borne out of previous, solid marketing experience with a consumer-facing brand.
