Job Description

About the role

We are looking for a Solution Architect to join the growing team of technical leaders who create the architecture for the next generation of geospatial data management and access systems. We use the latest innovations in UX, machine learning, cloud data management technologies and APIs.

By joining our expanding Technology and Design team, you will benefit from collaboration with the brightest minds in OS - some of the best experts in the field. Working with stakeholders from across the organisation, you will collaborate closely with delivery teams in both the definition and realisation of architectural solutions.

Being an effective communicator and great presenter

Developing stakeholder relationships and influencing people across the business at all levels

Collaborating with, and providing technical direction to, software delivery teams

Above all, being a team player we help each other to be great

Technically, your experience will include:

Defining the architecture for solutions that leverage the full range of capability found in public cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred)

Seeing the delivery of those solutions through to go-live and beyond

Youll be up to date with industry best practices for architecture and agile software development processes and lifecycles

It is advantageous but not essential to have exposure to architecting systems using one or more of the following;

Microsoft Azure Platform, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure ML Studio, PostGIS for PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, building cloud-native architectures, REST based API development and tooling, Scaling VM based applications in cloud environments

Experience in the geospatial domain would be an advantage

Location

This role will be based at our state-of-the-art Headquarters in Southampton. However, all our people, where they can are currently working from home and we recognise the future need to be flexible. As such we are open to applications that can deliver work remotely where appropriate.
