Job Description

Project Manager required for a Tier 1 contractor. 3 days travel to UK mainland and 2 days in NI Office.

Your new company

Hays Construction has been retained by one of the UK & Ireland's tier 1 contractors who currently require an experienced Project Manager to join this multi-award-winning employer of choice. This client has delivered landmark projects across a variety of sectors throughout their 50-year-years in the industry. With the huge growth and demand in the market this year, the company plan to deliver a wide range of projects in order to expand and build on their already prestigious project portfolio.

With impressive builds across a variety of sectors including commercial, residential & hospitality, this firm now requires a Project Manager to oversee a new site beginning at the start of 2024 that will see you working in a major UK city, constructing a large scale residential complex. This will be a challenging yet highly rewarding project and will see you based on site 3 days a week while working in the company's head office in Northern Ireland the other 2 days.

Your new role

Due to continued bid success, this company is currently undertaking new projects. With a new high rise apartment complex due to start in 2024, as Project Manager you will be the Number 1 on site, and lead the team in the delivery of the construction project, which will involve working closely with internal commercial and procurement teams, subcontractors, and a diverse management team on site. Your role will see you responsible for the delivery, commercial and some contractural obligations, however, you will have a senior management team and Contracts Manager to support you in your role.

You will be required to be on site 3 days a week, overseeing the works as they are subbed out and dealing directly with the client, council, and subcontractor requirements. You will be required to work to schedule whilst maintaining a focus on quality and health & safety. As Project Manager, you will be required to oversee, program & manage the performance of external consultants and contractors and work with the design teams to prepare project briefs, detailed specifications, drawings and procurement needs.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in this position, you will be able to meet targets within time and budget whilst upholding the high standards set over the firm's 50 years in the industry. This role will be based on site 3 days a week, so you must be prepared to travel (fully funded). Furthermore, you will also have previous Project Management experience on large scale multi-million-pound construction projects. The company celebrates its loyalty to its staff and commitment to meeting the objectives set by its clients. It is required that you have suitable experience as a Project Manager working on large scale projects as a site lead or number 1.
With key projects across the UK & Ireland, you must have a flexible attitude to travelling weekly.

What you'll get in return

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on numerous award-winning projects for a market-leading contractor that offer unrivalled opportunity for fast-track career development and progression due to their 'learn on the job' incentive. The company also offers a range of benefits that includes a highly competitive salary, an attractive discretionary bonus, generous holiday entitlement and a pension scheme with company contribution, along with travel allowances.
