Job Description

Senior Site Manager job opportunity for leading major contractor, Elgin Area

Your new company
Working for a leading nationwide construction company, you will join an established team in the role of Senior Site Manager. This job offers a permanent contract, offering a salary in the region of £50,000 - £55,000 in addition to a car (or car allowance) and a range of additional benefits. This company has a strong reputation in the local market for delivering high quality projects which make a difference to the local community. If you would like to be part of this, please see the details below.
Your new role
In your new role as a Senior Site Manager you will play a key part in the delivery of a new build construction project. Initially based in the Elgin area, you will be joining a team that delivers projects across the Highlands & Moray. Ideally, you will have previous experience of delivering projects in the region of £5M - £10M in value and in the capacity of the Senior Site Manager on site. Reporting to the contracts manager, you will have autonomy over the day-to-day running of the site. From site set up, completion of risk assessments and method statements, management of subcontractors and direct labour, organisation of plant and materials, health and safety management and driving the project forward inline with the programme, you will have various responsibilities in this role. Supported by an Assistant Site Manager, you will have a keen eye for detail to ensure that the work completed is to a high standard and, above all, in line with the client's expectation and, of course, the site operating safely at all times. You will be the first point of contact for queries from the client and other external bodies and will have a key role in weekly and monthly site progress meetings.
What you'll need to succeed
This is a role where you will need to have strong organisational skills, be an excellent communicator and be able to work to a defined programme and budget. Working with the team to resolve issues, you will be required to demonstrate leadership skills and foster good working relationships throughout the supply chain and with all interested parties on the project. Previous experience in a Site Management role is essential, and you must hold qualifications such as SMSTS and a CSCS Card. Formal qualifications such as SVQs, HNC/HND in Construction Management or a Degree in a construction related discipline would also be advantageous but are not essential.
What you'll get in return
In return, this opportunity will see you join a successful and supportive team working at the highest standard in the construction sector. Paid a competitive salary in the region of £55,000 with additional car allowance or company car with future opportunities to continue to develop in your career, this is an opportunity not to be missed. This organisation is forward-thinking, committed to sustainability and promotes a healthy work-life balance in their teams.
