Job Description

Established County Down Contractor, NI Projects

Your new company
Hays have been retained by a highly regarded, family run main contractor in their recruitment of a Quantity Surveyor. A main contractor that has been established for 40 years, they have experience in producing high quality building projects across Northern Ireland. Working on projects up to £15m in value, their portfolio includes health, educational, social and private housing, mixed commercial and transport projects. Due to continued expansion, my client now requires an ambitious Quantity Surveyor who is eager to progress in a key role in their Commercial Team.

Your new role
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be working as an integral part of the business as part of the Commercial Team working on a variety of building projects across Northern Ireland. The value of these projects will vary, ranging from £1m to £15m, working on forms of contract NEC and JCT. You will be heavily involved in assisting the Senior Team in the preparation and management of the project budget. You will be required to maximise value, minimise future liabilities and maintain the required standard of quality for your designated project.

What you'll need to succeed
You must be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, or a construction related discipline, and will have at least 4 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role with a main contractor. You will have experience in using all the relevant software, and will have strong commercial acumen to bring to the Commercial Team. You must be ambitious, commercially astute, and keen to establish yourself as a Quantity Surveyor with a successful main contractor who will be offering you a long-term view.

What you'll get in return
You will be employed by one of the leading and highly regarded construction contractors in Northern Ireland on a permanent basis. This role allows you access to fantastic prospects for career progression, and in-house training that will help to develop and improve your professional skills. The salary package for this role will be very competitive within the current market, and will include company allowances and pension.
