Description:

At Lloyds Banking Group, we’re driven by a clear purpose - to help

Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a

difference to customers, businesses and communities.

Could you help us make this possible?

An exciting opportunity currently exists within our in-house Commercial

Banking Litigation Team, part of the wider Litigation and Contentious

Regulatory community. We are looking for a lawyer to provide support on

complex litigation matters, based in any of our team locations (London,

Edinburgh or Bristol). The role offers the right candidate a unique

opportunity to form part of a high performing litigation team.

Key responsibilities:

 *

Join us and you will work collaboratively as part of a team, and in

consultation with others, including Senior Lawyers, the Head of Commercial

Banking Litigation and colleagues across the wider Legal Division.

 *

Provision of pro-active, pragmatic and commercially aware legal advice and

support across Commercial Banking in relation to complex contentious

matters, on potential or actual disputes at all stages of the litigation

process.

 *

Business contact and liaison for delivering litigation support, strategic

direction and risk mitigation strategies for Commercial Banking and other

relevant stakeholders.

 *

Provide support to business areas in identification and/or resolution of

legal risk, both actual and horizon risk issues.

 *

Legal representative in relevant business/divisional projects, supporting

more senior members of the team or non-contentious lawyer colleagues as

appropriate.

 *

Ensure the provision of structure and quality control around the instruction

and use of external panel firms to maximise value.

 *

Contribute to the ongoing implementation of the Commercial Banking

Litigation training programme.

 *

Identify and develop protocols and guidance notes to improve the efficiency

of litigation management across Commercial Banking.

 *

Opportunity for some informal line management/supervisory responsibilities

of more junior members of the team.

What we’ll need from you:

 *

You’ll need a current legal practising certificate or equivalent as

well as a professional legal qualification in a UK jurisdiction.

 *

You will possess post qualification litigation experience in a commercial

law firm in the banking/financial services sector with the added bonus of

prior in-house experience desirable, but not essential.

Skills & knowledge Areas

You’ll need a sound appreciation of legal, technical, and procedural

factors affecting contentious matters with an excellent understanding of

dispute resolution, together with a sound appreciation of the regulatory

frameworks dealing with lending to corporate customers and the relevant

impact on banking/financial services.

In return, you’d get a benefits package that includes:

 *

A discretionary performance related bonus

 *

Generous pension contribution

 *

30 Days leave plus bank holidays

 *

Private health cover

We're dedicated to giving you opportunities and support to develop you both

expertly and personally to optimise your potential.

As a new colleague, you’ll join us on our journey to build a 21st

century bank that reflects modern Britain, and craft an inclusive culture

where all colleagues feel encouraged and valued.

We're committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the

customers and communities we serve, and to building an inclusive environment

where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit. We support

the principles of agile working and are happy to consider flexible working

arrangements. We're an equal opportunity employer and deeply value diversity

within our organisation.

Together we make it possible.
