The Senior Credit Strategist is responsible for supporting the in-house bottom-up and top-down credit research capabilities, leveraging relationships with Asset Management partners and covering asset classes and markets where Liquid Credit portfolios are currently deployed or are expected to be deployed (IG Corporates, IG Financials, Sovereign/Supra, GBP as well as USD/EUR credit markets, municipalities, emerging markets and structured credit). 

The position holder also contributes to the overall management of the Liquid Credit portfolio throughout all stages of the investment process. Liquid Credit team within Markets and Portfolio Management Team is responsible for active portfolio management of over £20bn of Liquid Credit assets with focus on risk management and optimization.

Key Responsibilities

 Support portfolio management of the Liquid Credit book i.e. contribute to defining, recommending and implementing investment decisions focused on risk management and Solvency II optimisation of assets.

 Support the in-house bottom-up and top-down credit research capabilities, leveraging relationships with Asset Management partners and covering multiple asset classes and markets.

 Support delivering Liquid Credit back-book optimisation (i.e. contribute to ongoing generation of surplus-positive investment ideas), BPA pricing and execution and Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) delivery.

What We're Looking For

Essential

 Very strong experience-based knowledge of asset classes where Liquid Credit portfolios are currently deployed or are expected to be deployed.

 Proven strong analytical skills and research capabilities. Ability to deliver credit views across sectors and names, good understanding of relative value and experience in building portfolios and recommending deployment opportunities.

 Excellent analytical skills with ability to evaluate investment decisions and portfolio risks.

 Proven ability in and enthusiasm for working and communicating effectively with various internal and external stakeholders. Team-player.

 Ability to assign priorities to multiple activities while ensuring integrity, accuracy, and timeliness.

 Knowledge of insurance asset management and understanding of Solvency II framework.

Desirable

 CFA or similar investment management related qualification is an advantage.
