We are currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Neutering team within the Finance department, providing processing and administrative support for the Neutering Voucher schemes and to the wider finance team.
Cats Protection is the UKs leading feline welfare charity with a nationwide network of centres, volunteer-run branches and charity shops. During 2019 we helped around 191,000 cats and kittens, an average of more than 520 per day!
The role of the team is to record accurate information through our neutering schemes that supports the wider Cats Protection aims and objectives. We develop good working relationships with Veterinary practices and payments are made on a timely basis. We are a team of four in Neutering Finance working closely together to help and support each other and the wider Finance department. We help neuter around 150,000 cats and kittens, including around 20,000 ferals, every year. This important data is gathered through our team by the processing of vouchers and invoices that are returned to us for payment.
The Neutering Finance Assistant role will work accurately and diligently processing neutering vouchers and related invoices on a daily basis, checking data entered and creating payment runs and query files. Processing of payments are through an accounts system and online banking. You will assist in the preparation and checking of branch neutering statements, ensuring recharges are valid. You will handle appropriately all telephone, email and written enquiries regarding Neutering Vouchers from other departments, vets and branches, interrogating the system to answer queries and producing reports for vets. Developing knowledge on voucher campaigns, cat neutering and the aims and objectives of Cats Protection to support vets and branches.
The successful candidate will have strong knowledge and experience of working within an office environment ideally within a finance team with the ability to process data accurately. Experience of working in an accounts receivable or accounts payable department would be desirable. You will be competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and experience of using accounting software or similar with experience of developing good customer service.
