Job Description

Time commitment: approximately one day per week.

Morley College London is celebrated for its strong social values, its exceptional creativity and its commitment to meeting the needs of students and their communities. Since merging with Kensington and Chelsea College in 2020, we are Londons largest specialist Institute of Adult Learning. Operating from three main Centres in Chelsea, North Kensington and Waterloo as well as online, we aim to meet the learning needs of a growing number of students ranging from 16 to 76+ in age and to be a force for public good within the communities that we serve.

We are seeking to appoint a new Chair of Governors to lead a highly effective Governing Body, supporting and challenging our Principal/CEO and senior leadership team and ensuring the delivery of our new and ambitious strategy including a strong recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic as well as playing a public role as an ambassador for Morley.

With previous non-executive experience, ideally with experience of chairing, and a strong track record of strategic leadership in civil society, politics and/or public life, you will have the utmost credibility and integrity. Highly inclusive and collaborative, you will enjoy enabling all voices to be heard while driving continuous improvement backed by rigorous governance. You will have exceptional stakeholder management skills. Above all you will share our values and our commitment to inspire individuals and strengthen communities through the transformative impact of lifelong learning.
