Robert Gordons College is a leading co-educational independent day school rooted in over 250 years of history, located in the heart of Aberdeen City. It is a 3-18 school with just under 1,600 pupils. It is a Scottish curriculum school which has impressive partnerships locally and internationally. There is an opportunity for an innovative and enthusiastic individual to join the College as a Senior School Deputy Head to fill the post left vacant by the external promotion of the current incumbent.

The position is one of four Deputy Head roles within the Senior School who report to the Head of Senior School, and who are responsible for setting the tone, values and ethos of Robrt Gordons College. The Deputy Heads play a key role in both the operational and strategic leadership of the College, requiring both an eye for detail and the capacity to contribute to thought leadership.
As members of the Senior School Senior Management Team, Deputy Heads are integral to the schools ambitious plans to excel in developing outstanding learners and leaders. This role will have responsibility for S3 and S4 alongside other pastoral and academic responsibilities. A key element of the role is responsibility for co-curricular activities within the Senior School. The individual strengths of the successful candidate will be taken into account during the process of finalising remits.
The successful candidate will have relevant promoted post experience in schools and must be registered or eligible to be registered with the GTCS. Applicants should be familiar with the Professional Standards for Leadership, including critical engagement with literature, research and policy. A focus on wellbeing for all members of the community is essential.

The salary will be based on the SNCT Scales for Heads and Deputes and is enhanced by the addition of a Robert Gordons College allowance. A relocation package is available and fee reduction for children enrolled at the school will be offered to the successful candidate.
