January 2021 marked the first time in almost half a century that the UK was in charge of its own food law, and the FSA is at the very centre of defining what that means in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Covid-19 pandemic has led to significant changes to the food industry, with high-end restaurants becoming takeaways and small corner-shops turning to delivery services to expand their operations. Whether in e-commerce, with big retailers, or local takeaways, we ensure continued safety for consumers, working closely with local authorities and businesses.
