Job Description

Life can be challenging for the most vulnerable members of our society, whether it be from mental health, learning disabilities, homelessness, or substance misuse. Starting from our 1971 roots as a Leeds homeless charity, St Annes has grown to become a £42m charity supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs across the North of England.  With over 1300 staff, we put our clients at the centre of everything we do, supporting them to achieve their aspirations and live as independently as possible. We are proud to make a difference every day.

Led by Azra Kirkby, our new Chief Executive, the Senior Management Team is working with the Board of Trustees to develop an ambitious new business strategy for 2021 to 2025 to ensure we continue to provide great support to vulnerable people within our communities. We are now looking for committed Trustees with a broad skill set from a range of backgrounds who can join our Board to oversee the delivery of our vision, mission and values and our new strategy.

We are seeking a number of trustee roles to broaden our Board experience. In particular, we are seeking to appoint a new Chair and Vice-Chair, and we wish to increase the accounting and auditing experience on our Audit Committee and appoint an accountant to chair that Committee.  We are also keen to hear from people with housing or social care experience.

Our community in Leeds and the north of England is rich in diversity and we are keen to recruit people from diverse backgrounds who can broaden the Boards knowledge and experience.  You need not have experience as a Trustee previously; diversity of thought is more important.

We are keen to receive applications from women and people from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnicity (BAME) communities as well as Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Trans (LGBT+) candidates and individuals living with a disability.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

If you would like a confidential discussion, please call Mark Bate or Robin Staveley on 0113 205 6288 or Michelle Sander on 07341 773 817.
