We are looking to appoint a senior policy advisor in the BMA`s council secretariat to support the work of some of the Association`s key committees. This is a permanent post and will be reporting to the senior governance and committee manager within the chief of staff`s team.

In this varied role you will:

- lead on providing secretariat support to our retired members committee, including developing agendas, collating papers as well as drafting minutes and taking forward action points

- be assisting in the smooth running of key governance committees.

-carry out research into emerging policy areas combined and present policy reports to a wide range of audiences both written and verbally

-be working collaboratively with elected members and colleagues across the Association.

The ideal candidate must have:

-excellent communication skills and attention to detail (written and oral briefings to senior staff, chief officers and chairs of committees)

-experience of member led organisations and working with a range of stakeholders

-Experience of working as a committee secretary and administration of elections

-Project management skills and understanding of association`s dual roles as trade union and professional body
