About the job

Summary

Do you have an analytical mind with an ability to structure, solve and visualise complex problems? Are you able to think creatively and consider all possible solutions to a problem?

If so, would you like to work within our Chemical, Biological and Radiological (CBR) Division where you will be helping to ensure that decisions made by senior leaders in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and across Government are based on the best available evidence?

We are currently recruiting Graduate Operational Analysts to join our friendly team.

As a team we support and lead multi-disciplinary technical teams to deliver high quality;

Analysis and visualisations to assist with evidenced based decision-making at senior levels of government

Briefings, technical reports and presentations to customers and senior stakeholders, including the military

Job description

In this role you will (with bespoke training and supported by a mentor):

Support study teams to provide high profile, high impact operational analysis in support of MOD and Other Government Departments, for example the Home Office

Learn to understand the military and security domains and the threats that they face with relation to Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN)

Contribute to the collection, analysis and presentation of information and data for exciting high impact studies

Contribute to the writing of customer and technical reports

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who has:

Knowledge of analysis methods, tools or techniques and experience of their application particularly Qualitative analysis

Ability to make sense of complex information and distil it into an easily understandable output

Evidence of providing timely, impartial, evidence-based advice

Desirable

Knowledge of the UK armed forces

Technical Skills

Qualifications

Essential

Qualified to degree level in an appropriate discipline such as (but not limited to):

Operational Research, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Mathematics, Social Sciences.

Supporting or delivering a project from concept to delivery

Evidence of leading a small team

Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check.

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours, Ability, Experience and Technical skills.
