Up to £50,000 depending on experience

Remote Working Main Office Location: Edinburgh or Birmingham

This is a short-term contract to cover paternity leave. All our interviews, on boarding and the role itself will be managed remotely.  We have a strong virtual support network to ensure you have all the tools and resources to thrive in the role.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To be a point of contact for regulatory support and guidance for all areas of the Group in relation to compliance with the Data Protection legislation, regulation and associated guidance, and to support the Data Privacy Manager and Data Protection Officer in managing the day-to-day relationship with the Information Commissioners Office where required.

To monitor compliance with data protection legislation and with the policies of the Group in relation to data protection including  supporting the Privacy Assurance Manager with the regulatory data protection compliance aspects of OSP/Supplier governance and oversight, ensuring that all relevant services are provided to agreed and acceptable standards.

To support the ongoing design, implementation and maintenance of the Group framework for managing data protection risk including responding to legislation, devising and owning policies and training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Be a point of contact for all areas of the Group for the provision of advice relating to compliance with Data Protection legislation, regulation and associated guidance.

Provide support with the Groups response to key pieces of data protection legislation or regulation and co-ordinate and communicate the response, as required.

Support the maintenance, enhancement and implementation of data protection policies, guidelines, training and associated materials for the Group to identify, manage, monitor and report on the regulatory data protection risks that the Group is exposed to.

Promote data privacy compliance within the organisation including delivering data protection training and presentations; facilitating and supporting workshops and induction sessions to build and enhance awareness of data protection across the Group. 

Ensure data protection training programmes across the Group are completed on time across the Group and chase non-completers.

Ensure an appropriate level of regulatory data protection input in all key projects and developments within the Group.

Support the Data Privacy Manager, Data Privacy Assurance Manager and Data Protection Officer with the ownership of data protection incidents including the ICO notifiability assessment of incidents, liaising with the ICO as appropriate and ensuring that the business takes a risk-based and compliant approach to remediation.

Oversee the response to subject access requests, data protection complaints and privacy impact assessments.

Support the Privacy Assurance Manager in delivering data protection assurance activity to support the Supplier Management Model, consulting with senior management to formulate and agree effective solutions to any identified shortfalls.

Undertake data protection assurance activity across the Group to ensure process and risks are being managed appropriately within line 1

  

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Data Protection qualification desirable but not essential.

Experience in national and European data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the GDPR
