What were looking for:

Direct Line Group is in the process of re-discovering its Software Engineering roots. We are looking for Software Engineers with curious and forward-thinking minds, to challenge status-quo of software engineering and architecture.

We need you to work as a member of Enterprise Integrations team in development and operation of software which supports integrations between multiple technologies and platforms at Direct Line Group!

We are looking for a polyglot programmer with expertise in Java and the Java ecosystem. Java is the main language however we are also looking for additional languages such as: JavaScript, Python, Kotlin, HTML as well as Agile Software Development, AWS, CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Your role would be fundamental in the direction Enterprise Integrations will take.

Who youll be working with:

As a member of the cross-functional Enterprise Integrations team you will be contributing towards team Mission: €œDeliver best in class services and platforms supporting Enterprise Integrations of real-time and batch data feeds€.

As part of the Engineering Chapter, you will be working with Engineering Chapter Leads and other Software Engineers on adopting industry best practices in the Agile software development.

What youll be doing:

Knowledge and skills in Spring, Spring Boot, REST and SOAP WebServices, Apache Tomcat, Linux, Unit testing, Shell scripting and Ansible

Experience with either of the following CI/CD tools: Maven, Gradle, NPM, PIP, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions

Excellent AWS Experience with: Compute - EC2, Lambda, ECS, Fargate. Storage - S3, EBS and any others including- AWS API Gateway, VPCs, CloudWatch, Config, CloudFormation

Build and Operate Services and Platforms as a member of cross-functional team

Ensure software quality by unit, integration and End-to-End testing

Research new technologies and propose improvements to existing platforms as well as migration from legacy systems

Work closely with other disciplines including, functional and non-functional testing, security and operations, in order to design, build and operate highly resilient and secure solutions

Collaborate and communicate with Engineering Chapter (Community of Software Engineers)
