Job Description

Birmingham or Leeds (London may be possible)

Are you a highly-experienced and inspirational leader with a proven track record of leading a wide range of large and high value capital projects in a complex stakeholder environment?

Transport is at the heart of the Governments plans for an infrastructure revolution.  The Department for Transport is leading on the development and delivery of the many of the largest and most high-profile capital projects in Government including HS2, Northern Powerhouse Rail and an ambitious programme of national road improvements across the country.

Leading a rapidly growing team of 160 and working closely with Network Rail and other delivery partners, you will be responsible for a portfolio of rail projects including the Transpennine Route Upgrade, East West Rail and Northern Powerhouse Rail.  You will also lead the Governments work to create an Integrated Rail plan for future investment in the North and Midlands. 

You will play a key role in shaping the future of the railway in the UK and in levelling up the economy to deliver jobs and growth across the country.
