What we are looking for:

Are you eager to develop sophisticated enterprise systems to make services run more effective, will you help us redefine our customer experience?

We are looking for a Mainframe Engineer with a solid grasp of GENTRAN, and excellent experience of Mainframe technology, including: Cobol, CICS, DB2, JCL and SQL.

You will be instrumental in crafting and building functionality on the mainframe for our Commercial Motor Vehicle business whilst maintaining and building new Integration Maps!

Who youll be working with:

We provide a number of services within Technology Services (TS), including Platform Engineering, Application Development and Maintenance as well as end to end testing to ensure high availability of systems. Youll be working in a strong Agile team of 5 engineers, and sitting within Application Development and Maintenance (AD&M).

What you'll be doing:

You will need solid experience with GENTRAN map development and the application.

Programming knowledge of CA-IDEAL and JCL is essential

Working with COBOL and CA-DATACOM/DB programming as well as SQL.

Commercial experience of Agile and ITIL concepts & practices

Experience in any of the following software applications: ENDEVOR, SAS, Connect:Direct, TSO/ISPF, CICS, CA-DATACOM/DB, CA7

Collaborating closely with business users on projects and smaller change initiatives to deliver an ongoing backlog of improvements

Working with internal and external suppliers to craft and build the configuration management, release, deployment and operations cycle to meet business requirements.

Identifying and delivering Service Improvements in both production, testing and development environments

Working with Architecture, Security and Other key teams to implement the DLG Technology strategy roadmap

Identifying and implementing opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in the development and continuous deployment of applications.
