Mental Health Support Coordinator

East Ipswich

Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw),

Salary Circa £19,100

£9.72 per hour if youd prefer to work on our bank on a casual basis

Sleep in shifts of £35.00 and On Call Shifts of £14.30 per shift

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers who have a diagnosis of severe and enduring mental health conditions such as Schizophrenia, Anxiety, Depression, Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorders and others, who may also have substance misuse issues and/or a mild learning disability.

This fantastic role is based within one of our 24/7 services which provides support to customers residing at the service, a respite service and our Flexible Short Stay Service. The Short Stay Service provides a 24 hour referral route for customers at times of mental health crisis when a hospital environment may not be considered the most therapeutic place for them. Youll go home each day knowing that youve made an amazing difference to vulnerable peoples lives.  

 

We help our customers to learn or regain daily living skills such as budgeting, managing a tenancy and their homes, caring for themselves, accessing education, training and voluntary opportunities, supporting to maintain their mental health and well-being, supporting to appointments and social activities either within the service/organisation or in the community. We support customers to gain the skills they want and need to be ready to move on into the community/ be able to remain in their homes.

About our team

Youll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements.  To us were not just a team were a work family. Our manager is Steve, he has over 15 years experience working with our customer group and in housing. There are 8 of us in the team and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too! Elle, Frank and the rest of the team can't wait to share all of their amazing experiences with you.

 

Working hours

We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. Youll work on a rota basis and take your turn working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank.  You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

 

About you

Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. 

 

Youll help change our customers lives (and our services) for the better by undertaking risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. Youll create bespoke and personalised support plans with and for your customers.  Each plan will look to meet our customers individual needs and aspirations, making sure they meet safeguarding and confidentiality requirements. Youll also have responsibility for working with our support workers, apprentices and volunteers, and working collaboratively with external agencies, to assess and engage support for our customers.

 

We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together well make a difference!

 

To keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!) Youll be given the latest IT kit, which could include a Surface Pro tablet and smart phone, supported by our new online integrated IT system which means that you dont have to be in the office as you can complete support plans on the go. 

 

To make sure our customers are well supported, its important that you have worked in a supportive environment before. Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

   

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
