Job Description

The British Medical Association (BMA) is the professionalassociation and trade union for doctors and medical students in the UK. It hasa prominent and influential position at the very heart of current debate overthe future of healthcare provision.

We have an exciting opportunity for a PolicyAdvice and Support Officer to join our Workforce and Innovation team until May2021. Successful candidate will be working remotely initially.

In your new role you will:
-work closely with the BMA`sdemocratic structures to gather evidence, develop policy solutions, advice andguidance and deliver policy change
-support the team to deliver its work programmewhich includes NHS staffing, IT and digital transformation and workforcewellbeing and retention
-provide expert policy advice and guidance to avariety of audiences including senior staff, committees, chief officers andmembers
-research, analyse and develop policy proposals,produce briefings, guidance and other practical support materials and representthe BMA at external meetings and events
-provide policy support to BMA committeeslooking at workforce and IT issues

To succeed in this role, you will need:
-experience of evidence-based policydevelopment in a health or health-related context.
-excellent writing, research and data analyticskills
-experience of working on workforce and ITpolicy is not essential, however you must be keen to learn and developexpertise in the team`s policy areas
-to be eager to take opportunities to work withmembers and colleagues from across the BMA and contribute to the team in aconstructive manner
