Job Description
Develop and implement EH&S policies and procedures across laboratory operations Working alongside the EH&S Manager and specialist team you will be responsible for the development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs including (but not limited to) COSHH, industrial hygiene, product stewardship, including REACH, hazardous waste management across the EMEA region. Responsibilities will include: EMEA lead and technical expert on laboratory safety including, but not limited to, chemical safety and industrial hygiene monitoring; Lead product hazard communication, chemical notification/registration compliance across EMEA (e.g. REACH, CLP) Lead chemical hazard assessment in chemical product and process design Represent EHS by leading integration of effective EHS risk management into product design and development at R&D sites, EMEA Member of the Product Stewardship Committee Hazardous waste management oversight for EMEA EHS advisor in new laboratory/site projects across EMEA Lead investigations and root cause analysis for chemical related incidents Lead emergency response program for chemical related incidents, hazardous material handling Support regulatory interpretation Managing/supporting information systems (SDS database, incident reporting system) Champion for safety / lead safety culture Preferred background, skills and experience: NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent essential Science based degree, or equivalent, preferable Extensive demonstrable experience within a similar role in EH&S Proven track record of working within a similar role Multi-year experience of biotech or life sciences company essential Experience of working in chemical environments Knowledge of scientific principles and concepts essential Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Presentation skills and experience of presenting to a variety of audiences Experience in IVD/Med Device/Life Sciences industry is a plus Experience of working in fast paced and dynamic environment with fast global business growth Ability to prioritise and execute work among competing priorities Knowledge and experience in implementation of EHS Management system 45001 advantageous
