An opportunity to join a team that supports vulnerable people across London

This is an exciting opportunity to work with London Councils and set up the @£26million 2021-2025 pan-London Grants Programme. You will be working with partners to establish the needs of Londons boroughs, develop service specifications, manage an open awards round and begin the process of negotiating grant agreements.

The programme will be funded by Londons boroughs, and will support some of Londons most vulnerable people who are homeless, poor or are victims of sexual and domestic violence.  We will aim to work with a range of voluntary and community sector partners to reach communities right across the capital.

You will take day-to-day responsibility for project planning, the application procedure and award management of the programme, working in partnership with the Grants Committee - made up of 33 elected members from each of Londons local councils - the London boroughs and other stakeholders.

You will also support the Strategy Director with managing the resources available to set up the grants programme and ensure we deliver an efficient, high-quality service.

The ability to lead and motivate small task-and-finish groups to deliver the project, experience of end-to-end grant management and excellent communication and written skills are essential. Experience of projects that support vulnerable people would be beneficial although not essential, but all candidates must demonstrate a commitment in practice to tackling inequality.

London Councils represents the 32 boroughs and the City of London. We aim to get the best deal for Londoners and to ensure that Londons councils have the resources, freedoms and powers to do the best possible job for their residents and local businesses. We also run several services on behalf of the boroughs including the Freedom Pass, Taxicard and Health Emergency Badge.
