Referral Worker

Permanent, Part Time (30 hpw)
Salary £17,600 to £19,200 per annum, pro rota 
About the service
“Mary Rose Court” and “Group Homes” are both short term, accommodation based services. The anticipated length of stay for our customers is between six months and two years. “Mary Rose Court” can accommodate 19 single people, there are 26 bed spaces across the “Group Homes” service, and all properties are within a three mile radius of Basingstoke town centre.
Support is provided to our customers at “Mary Rose Court” seven days a week, the “Group Homes” service offers a lower level of support, primarily operating Monday – Friday.

The service has been commissioned by Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, we work closely with our Social Inclusion partners, including “Julian House”, “Two Saints”, “Inclusions”, “Probation” and “Community Mental Health” teams. We support the “Real Change, Not Loose Change” campaign in working together to prevent homelessness and rough sleeping.
Our customers are single people aged between 18 and 65 years of age, have a wide range of support needs and have been faced with homelessness. Our customers are involved in shaping services and are encouraged to be involved to ensure services are fit for purpose.
About the role
Competent in engaging with a diverse range of people, you will be responsible for taking and processing referrals into our services from both individuals, who are self refers. You will also be referring agencies and desktop assessments, signposting to other agencies if they do not meet our eligibility criteria. A key part of this role is to be efficient and have effective client and stakeholder communication. You will have responsibility for processing referrals through our information management system such as assessment outcomes and client data and liaising with our Client Service Managers in the area.
The Referral Worker role requires that you have strong IT skills, the ability to be organised and able to prioritise to ensure engagement with key individuals. The role offers a great opportunity for an individual, who is self-motivated to develop their skills through a wide range of training packages available. We are a small friendly team, who support each other daily, our customers and their satisfaction with the service offered being paramount.
Primarily working Monday to Friday, you will be required to work one day over the weekend, on a four weekly cycle. The role can be worked over a five day period of 6 hours daily or worked over a four day period, (7 hours daily). Availability can be discussed further at interview stage. This role will require an element of lone working, so confidence is key.
When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for someone to provide the highest quality of customer service to referrers, service users, commissioners and colleagues and you must have strong administration experience with high levels of competence in the use of Microsoft Office packages and Information Management systems. With good numeracy and literacy skills, you will also have the ability to manage your own time and workload effectively, and will work in conjunction with colleagues to meet contractual deadlines.
With a strong attention to detail, you will be enthusiastic, literate and numerate and competent in engaging with a diverse range of people.
