Job Description

Salix Homes owns and manages around 8,500 homes across Salford, Greater Manchester. Approximately one in ten people in the area live in one of our homes - so we are an integral element of the local community, and ideally positioned to make a real difference to people’s lives. We work hard to understand the things that matter most to our customers and design our services around their needs. We’re rethinking housing to find new ways to deliver excellent customer services and innovative solutions to housing.

Looking forward, we continue to anticipate and adapt to a fast-changing agenda, with an emphasis on quality of service, safety of our homes, developing new homes and promoting Salix Homes as a great place to work. To support these ambitions we now wish to appoint a number of new Board Members who want to invest their expertise and experience on behalf of others. As part of a Board with a diverse range of backgrounds and specialisms, you’ll help to scrutinise and develop our organisation’s strategic planning, ensuring rigorous professional challenge and accountability supports better outcomes for our customers.

Commercial and entrepreneurial experience will be of particular value, and we are also keen to hear from people who understand how to achieve excellent customer services through the harnessing of the potential of new and emerging digital technologies that will serve to revolutionise how we engage with our customers and respond to their needs. You should bring an inquisitive mind and a collaborative style that will enable you to ask the right questions to get the best from others. It’s important that you can model our organisational values and that you share our absolute commitment to delivering great customer service. In return you will have the opportunity to make a valuable strategic contribution, working across a wide range of issues, that will help to diversify and enhance your own professional frame of reference.
