Job Description

The House of Lords Administration employs over 500 staff, providing the administrative and logistical support for the House of Lords to work as an effective second chamber of Parliament.  The Learning and Organisational Development Team (Learning and OD) is responsible for developing and delivering OD and learning interventions to shape our organisational culture and support delivery of the House of Lords Strategy for the Administration 2019-25.  It currently consists of three people and sits within the wider Human Resources Office.

The Role 

To co-ordinate a professional and efficient administration service and provide general support to the Learning and OD Team.

To ensure a high level of customer service and be the first point of contact for staff throughout the Administration, relating to learning and organisational development activities.

To be responsible for the administration of learning events, working with internal and external providers and using relevant systems, contributing to the effective operation of the team and HR Office.

The Person 

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience: 

Excellent administrative and organisational skills; experience of working in an administrative role

Keen interest in Learning and Development/OD

High level of accuracy and attention to detail, ability to produce and review documents, web pages and reports

Ability to work quickly under pressure and juggle several tasks

Ability to create realistic plans to achieve own deadlines and objectives, managing and prioritising workload

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
