Chair and Non – Executive Directors

The Palace of Westminster Restoration and Renewal Programme has been established to tackle the significant work that needs to be done to protect and preserve the heritage of the Palace of Westminster and ensure it can continue to serve as home to the UK Parliament in the 21st century. This is an enormous and unprecedented undertaking, which is expected to be the most complex renovation programme of any single building the UK has ever seen.

We are seeking outstanding candidates to become the Delivery Authoritys inaugural Chair, appointed with the consent of the Commissions of the two Houses, and at least four Non-Executive Directors. The Delivery Authority Board will provide leadership to the new organisation, ensuring that it delivers a high-quality result on time and to budget.

The Chair and Non-executive Directors will be experienced, board-level leaders. They will have experience of organisations and projects of genuine complexity and scale. They will be first-class communicators and relationship builders, able to work positively with an unusually wide range of stakeholders. The Chair will have overall responsibility for bringing together and leading the Board as it embarks on this unique programme.

The time commitment for the Chair will be approximately three days per week. The Non-Executive Directors time commitment is likely to be three to four days per month.
