Support Worker
Wymondham, Norfolk
Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)
Salary of £17600 - £19200 through performance and length of service

We have a fabulous and unique opportunity for you to join our small but amazing staff team. We support adult male customers who have been homeless and have a variety of support needs including; offending histories, substance misuse, mental health issues and learning disabilities. They live at our 24/7 staffed supported housing scheme in Wymondham or at one of our move on properties dispersed across the town.


We help our customers get back into independent living with support, kindness and an ever changing customer led support plan. We support them to manage their tenancies with us, deal with debt issues, engage in the local community, make friends, find employment and address any issues which may be impacting on their ability to live safely and happily in the community.

About our team
Youll be working alongside our fabulous team who are passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrate their achievements. Our Interim Manager Corrine, has worked within the service for over 8 years and loves travel and a good box set. She is always interested in hearing about what everyone is watching and recommending the latest shows.


Support Worker Opey loves to sing, so watch this space for X factor this year! He also says Jamie Oliver has nothing on him and is happy to offer his cooking skills to the customers.


We love to share our knowledge and ideas with each other and have a very friendly and open work environment. We pride ourselves on excellent communication.


Doughnuts are always there to help you through the day and a song or 2 is always welcome. To us were not just a team were a work family. There are 3 Support Workers and 1 Support Coordinator in our team and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too!


Working hours
We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. Youll work on a rota basis and take your turn working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!


Or recent staff trip to Cryptic escape rooms was excellent and we are looking forward to planning the next exciting team day out!

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.


About you
Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.


We help change our customers lives for the better. Youll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. Youll work with your colleagues, support coordinator and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together well make a difference!


To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)


It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however its your €œcan do€ positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!


As this is a community based role, youll need to travel around to spend time with your customers. You could do this role using public transport, or if you drive and have access to a car that would also be amazing! (We pay your expenses to cover this use!)


If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which well pay for.
