Python Software Engineer

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Python Software Engineer to join a diverse team based at the Wellcome Genome Campus in Hinxton, delivering software and infrastructure solutions for sequencing and analysis of large-scale Genomic data.

An interest and enthusiasm for understanding the positive impact your software could have on diagnosing genetic diseases would be desirable, however, no previous Bioinformatics experience is needed.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the informatics infrastructure as well as full-stack web applications for management of the sequencing pipeline. You will work with our Product manager, Bioinformaticians, Lab Managers, Process Engineers and other stakeholders, utilizing your skills as an excellent Software Engineer to design and develop improvements to the efficiency and robustness of the sequencing operation in an ISO accredited environment. Your contributions will have a direct impact on thousands of clinical patients.

Desired Skills

    Experience writing production-ready applications in Python and Angular
    GoLang experience is highly desirable but not essential
    Experience working with Docker and AWS
    Fluency with Linux and Git
    Familiarity with building and consuming REST APIs
    Experience working with ISO27001 and ISO13485 environments under a Quality Management System is preferred
    Experience monitoring system health with tools like Grafana, Sentry, Tableau and AWS CloudWatch
