Grade 6

Location: London and South East

The Home Office is central to Government decision-making and the lives of the UK’s diverse communities. The challenges we face today are significant and can change rapidly in the global environment in which we operate, making us one of the most exciting and stimulating Government departments. Our senior leaders work on a range of policy and operational areas including, immigration, passports, drugs policy, crime policy, counter-terrorism and accountable policing. We do this within a framework of our core of Values of Integrity, Honesty, Objectivity and Impartiality.

Creating a diverse and inclusive Home Office is imperative to achieving our objectives.  We recognise the value of difference and want to establish an inclusive, flexible and values-based Home Office for those who work here and for the communities in which we serve.

The Department is currently going through a period of exciting transformation and change. As a key Government department, we now have a number of exciting opportunities to bring in a wider range of diverse talents. To support our current Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, and our core Values, we particularly welcome applicants from groups currently under-represented in senior roles within the Home Office – Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates, people with disabilities, LGBT and returners (i.e. people who have been out of the workplace for more than two years).

To help us to deliver on our ambitious programme of work, we are looking for innovative leaders with experience of influencing senior stakeholders in what can be a complex, fast paced and challenging work environment.

You will be concerned about fairness and social justice, value a flexible work culture, while having experience of negotiating and being comfortable challenging senior colleagues and other stakeholders. Many of our programmes are delivered at pace, however we place a high value on collaborative and consultative decision-making.

The Home Office is recognised as one of the UK’s most inclusive work environments.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals to place themselves at the very centre of change. You will be committed to your own growth as a leader, in return we will support you with family friendly flexible working and a programme of development opportunities, so why not get in touch today.
