Job Description

As the new independent regulator for higher education, it`s our job to ensure that students from all backgrounds have a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers. We`re looking for an Events Coordinator to plan and manage our corporate events, ensuring that they make a meaningful and positive impact to our external engagement work.

An experienced event professional, you`ll be at ease planning and managing a range of events - from large corporate conferences to parliamentary receptions. With an eye for detail, superb organisational skills and a keen understanding of budget management, your experience and skills will mean that you can hit the ground running in this varied and challenging role.

The ability to develop excellent relationships is key to this role. Whether it`s working with colleagues within the Office for Students to plan an event, or ensuring speakers have all they need before they step on stage, you will be at ease working with a variety of people at all levels. You`ll need the confidence to provide constructive challenge, and problem-solving skills to diplomatically resolve last-minute issues and problems.

As well as organising our flagship events, you will work with teams within the OfS who are organising seminars and consultation events. You will be able to support, train and empower colleagues to run their own events.

This is an exciting, varied and challenging role in a small and supportive new public affairs team, and a great opportunity for someone looking to move to a new, high-profile and important organisation. We offer a flexible working environment, access to the civil service pension scheme and a host of other benefits.

It`s important to us that our growing team is diverse so we encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and identities. The role is full time; however, we will consider job share and part time applicants (minimum 0.6 FTE).

Application deadline: 23:55 on 17th February 2019

Shortlist: 25th February 2019

Interview: 4th March 2019
