Youth Company Pastoral Coordinator

Opera North is England’s national opera company in the North and one of Europe’s leading arts organisations. It tours not only throughout the North of England and to London, but also to opera houses on the continent in cities such as Prague and Barcelona; it performs at major international festivals including Edinburgh and Ravenna. Through its Education department the Company seeks to encourage people, of all ages and from all walks of life, to explore the art form of opera and the work of Opera North; in doing so it seeks to break down perceived barriers to engagement with the artform. It seeks to champion excellence in opera and related fields by, with and for young people and to use arts participation and performance to enhance the health and well-being of people in the communities where we work. 

Opera North is looking for an experienced and well-motivated individual to provide pastoral and administrative support for children and young people, aged 4-19, during ON Education and Mainstage activities.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the developmental needs of young people, age 4 – 19, and what good pastoral support entails, in addition to excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken. 

Salary:   £ 22,000 per annum.
